Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the taproom located?
Our new brewery and taproom is located at 5959 Baker Rd., Minnetonka, MN.
When is your taproom open?
Due to Governor Tim Walz Emergency Executive Order 20-04 Providing for Temporary Closure of Bars, Restaurants, and Other Places of Public Accommodation, Boom Island Brewing regrets to inform you that our taproom is currently closed for on-site consumption and all food trucks and music performances have been cancelled through Friday, March 27, 2020. We will reassess and be in contact as information is provided to us by the State.
Between now and Friday, March 27, our taproom will be open for to-go and curbside sales orders everyday between the hours or 10:00AM-8:00PM.
Can I still purchase beer and other items from the brewery during the closure?
Yes, we are offering 750mL crowlers, bottles, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages to go via curbside pickup. Find information on how to place your order, here.
Do you have a happy hour?
We will have updated happy hour information soon!
Are dogs welcome?
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are always welcome in specific areas of our taproom -- Please keep them on the right side of the taproom (away from the barrels), as per city ordinance.
Do you sell growlers and crowlers?
Yes, we sell both. We offer a rotating selection of pre-filled growlers and crowlers. Growlers are available for fill on select beers.
Can I exchange empty growlers from other breweries?
We are unable to fill outside growlers through March 2020. Normally we are able to fill growlers from other breweries, but they must be clean when presented at the bar. These growlers cannot be exchanged for Boom Island Growlers.
Do you serve non-alcoholic beverages?
Absolutely! We offer a selection of craft sodas from Northern Soda, Spruce Soda, and Northstar Kombucha, as well as a community water station.
Do you sell wine, hard cider or mixed drinks?
Currently Minnesota state law prohibits us from selling any alcoholic beverages beyond our own beers. The good news is we brew such a wide range of styles, even non-beer drinkers are surprised to find something they love on tap.
Do you sell food?
We regularly host some of the Twin Cities’ most popular food trucks. Check out our events calendar to see who’s there this week. We also offer Popped Corn, Pita Chips + Holy Land Hummus, and Dot's Pretzels.
Can I bring my own food or have a meal delivered?
Sure! Feel free to bring in, or order in whatever food you’re craving. You can be sure we’ll have the perfect beer to go with it!
Do you have live music?
Yes! Check our events calendar and see who’s playing this week.
Do you allow kids in the taproom?
Sure, bring the whole family! The only thing we ask is that minors must remain with their parents or guardians while they’re in the taproom.
Do you sell brewery merchandise?
Yes, we have a selection of unisex t-shirts, hoodies, hats, and other goodies in the taproom.
Do you sell brewery merchandise online, or can you ship it to me?
Unfortunately we are not currently set up for online merchandise sales, nor are we able to ship merchandise from the taproom.
Could I host a private event in the taproom?
Yes! We can even help plan your event and catering to make it more memorable. For more information, email Jay@boomislandbrewing.com
